ASSEMBLY & MAINTENANCE

Instructions
& Care

Your ALPS Water Filter System has been carefully designed with the utmost in efficiency and effectiveness, yet with simplicity in mind. Please follow these instructions for proper assembly and care of your unit so that you may gain the maximum health benefits and drinking enjoyment from it for many years to come.

The following is representative of the “stage/order of assembly.”

STEP 1:

Magnetic Tap: (9th stage)
Attach to outlet on lower/bottom water tank making sure that one washer is fixed internally and the other externally. Please do not use excessive force when installing and or using the tap.

Alps Mineral Stones

STEP 2:

Mineral Stones: (8th stage – Replace every 12 – 18 months)
Place mineral stones in boiling water for 5 minutes, then place outdoors to dry naturally. Spread them evenly to cover the surface area on the bottom of the lower tank (SPL-8). Repeat this process every 6 months for optimum mineral replacement.

PRILL BEADS (OPTIONAL – Highly Recommended) 11th Stage
Rinse Prill Bags under running water for 2-3 minutes. Place Prill Bags on top of stones on either side of the tank. DO NOT take Prill Beads out of the bags.
Every 6-12 months, place bags of Prill Beads in a jar covered with water and two tablespoons of bi-carb soda and let soak for 3-4 hours. Rinse Prill bags and let dry in the sun for 3-4 hours, then put back in the tank.

step4

STEP 3:

6 Stage Cartridge: (2nd – 7th stages – Replace every 6 to 9 months)
Immerse/soak in water for at least two hours – this rids the cartridge of any dust particles from the manufacturing process and primes it for use. After soaking the 6-stage filter cartridge, place it under running water and then give it a good shake. This will remove any air pockets and give you a good flow. (Repeat this process if ever you find your unit’s water flow is slowing down). Screw cartridge onto threaded plate (SPL-4) and place onto lower/bottom water tank cover (SPL-6). Flush/backwash the cartridge every 2-3 months under running water.

step5

STEP 4:

Ceramic Dome: (1st and primary stage – Replace every 6 to 9 months)
Immerse/soak in water at least ten minutes, which rids the dome of any dust particles from the manufacturing process and primes it for use. Assemble ceramic dome via butterfly nut & washer, onto the smaller (top) container as illustrated re (SPL-2/3). Gently remove and gently clean the dome periodically with a soft toothbrush/fabric under running water, especially if/when residue forms on the dome surface.

Additional Information:

In summer or under strong UV light, some green algae may appear on the bottom tank or stones. If this occurs, either move the filter to a more shaded area (it would be best to avoid placing the filter in direct sunlight altogether). Component replacement periods could vary, according to frequency of use and inlet water quality. Please instruct children re: correct usage of outlet tap.

DO NOT OVERFILL the lower water collection tank.

You can now enjoy clean, alkaline, energised water.
